Quotes:
Just as the moon reflects the radiance of the sun, so we who
believe and follow the Savior can reflect Him who is the light of
the world.

xRef Let's remember that "the joy of the Lord is [our] strength" (Nehemiah 8:10). Let's also take comfort in the teachings of Jesus,
who in John 15:11 said, "These things I have spoken to you, that
My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full." When faced
with the choice of self-pity or rejoicing, let's respond
with rejoicing.

Is Jesus your Savior and constant companion? If He isn't,
He can be. Call on His name in faith and invite Him into your life.
Then the name of Jesus will become to you the most precious
of names.

When we submit our plans to God's will, we can enjoy His peace in the
midst of life's uncertainty.

May gratitude continually fill our hearts, because God's goodness and mercy will follow us all the way to glory. We are indebted to Him forever. Vernon Grounds

God's goodness imparts what we don't deserve; His mercy withholds what we do deserve. In times of pain and sorrow, our heavenly Father faithfully meets our needs, comforts our hearts, and gives us strength to bear our burdens. Although we are believers, we still sin and fall short of the holy standard set by His Son, Jesus Christ. Yet He keeps on pouring His forgiveness into our souls as we confess our sins. We may think of ourselves as decent people, but we must still admit that "we have left undone those things which we ought to have done, and we have done those things which we ought not to have done" (The Book of Common Prayer).

A church that teaches the truth about Christ is not only relevant but
desperately needed in our world. It can help people of all ages to find
their way home.

xRef Prayer isn't the way to get God to do whatever we want. It's an expression of our trust in His power, wisdom, and grace. No matter what we ask God to do for us, we are to have the attitude of Jesus, who said, "Nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will" (Matthew 26:39). Vernon Grounds

xRef We should, of course, have regular devotional times by ourselves. Just as surely, we need the blessing of uniting with other believers for worship and fellowship. We need to spend time together "in order to stir up love and good works" (v.24). We need to make it our habit to worship with others. We need one another. Vernon Grounds

xRef Even more important, God values you (Matthew 6:26-30)
and has gone to great lengths to show His love. The Bible says
that His Son Jesus loves you so much that He gave His life
for you (Galatians 2:20).
Vernon Grounds

xRef Yes, we are already saints by faith in Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:1). But each day we face the challenge of becoming what we are--Christlike in every area of our lives. Vernon Grounds

To sinners saved by grace, the gospel is like the rapturous harmonies of heaven. We have no right to keep it to ourselves. Jesus tells us to take it into our world and let people hear it. Vernon Grounds
